When can I go to births as a doula?

Picture
Many women come to the doula training after they have attended some or a lot of births as a friend or as a childbirth educator. You can be begin attending births as a doula trainee immediately after the training. You need a minimum of three births for certification, but only the births you attend after the workshop will count.
Once you complete your certification you will receive a name tag with initials CD(DONA) after your name indicating that you are a DONA Certified Doula. I consider it an honor to be certified and it's important that we are recognized for abiding by DONA's  Standards of Practice. Certification makes a statement that you have taken the steps to affirm that you are qualified and meet the criteria for certification.

What doula trainees are saying about the workshops . . . . . . .

I came away from the doula training with a very empowering driving force to make a difference.
